Spes Bracelet
This solid bracelet has a decorative clasp that is both functional and elegant. It is modeled after a Roman example of the second century AD.
"Spes" is Latin for "hope." The goddess Spes was the personification of Hope. The sort of hope over which she presided included aspects such as fruitful gardens and harvests, childbearing, and general good fortune. These types of favors were considered to come from the gods, and as such, Spes was often invoked on special occasions such as weddings and birthdays. In the arts and especially on coinage, Spes is shown as a robed female often wearing a diadem on her head, holding in one hand her skirt, and in the other, a large flower bud.
