€447,95

This bejeweled bracelet is truly regal, and is based on an astonishing example from the ancient city of Pompeii and dating to c. AD 79. Here, a latticework cuff bracelet adorned with small spheres supports a stunning pair of large bezel-set cabochon stones at the center.

"Providentia" was one of the most esteemed virtues, in ancient Rome, and it means the ability to see something in advance, and make appropriate preparations. It is related to the ideas, therefore, of foreknowledge, and precaution. According to Cicero, Providentia was one of the key aspects of wisdom and awareness: "the knowledge of things that are good or bad or neither." (De Inventione 2.160)
