Auctoritas Ring
This ring is potentially the most classic of all ancient styles, and is modeled after a late Roman ring of the fifth century AD. Here, a gorgeous garnet cabochon stone is crowned by a ribbed bezel, which is surrounded on either side by three small spheres. The shaft of the ring is a beautifully and delicately rounded tube.
Auctoritas in Latin was a prestigious spiritual or social authority, the type built up over time and with experience, and tied to reputation and status. The possessor of auctoritas was thus a person of great influence.
