Dignitas Ring
This stately ring is quintessentially classic in design, and is based on several Roman examples dating to the first and second centuries AD found in Bay of Naples towns, and in areas that were at one point known as Roman Britain. Its focal point is a prominent round stone in a bezel setting, which is crowned by a brilliant ribbed border.
"Dignitas" was an important and serious concept in the Roman world - and something to which all Romans aspired - though it is difficult to define today. It meant "dignity," of course, but on a personal level, and reflected ideas of self-worth and pride. It also carried connotations of charisma and prestige, merit, authority, and status.
