Eye of Horus Ring

$648.00

The Eye of Horus was a powerful symbol in ancient Egypt, and a reference to the legendary conflict between rivals Horus and Set. As the story goes, Set tore out one of Horus' eyes, which was subsequently healed and returned to him. The motif therefore became popular in jewelry, worn as an amulet believed to secure for its wearers well-being, protection and healing. In fact, the Eye of Horus was one of the most common Egyptian motifs used for amulets over the long period from c. 2,686 BC to AD 641.

Our bold ring features the most popular form of the motif, in which a human eye is combined with the Horus-falcon markings.
