Special Instructions
Make a statement! Our Gravitas ring is big and bold, and is based on an ancient Etruscan ring dating from the third century BC. The distinctive shape was very popular in antiquity, as the number of extant examples attests. Its narrow and thin back grows with dramatic crescendo into a wide and prominent rectangular front face, which is lightly rimmed along the sides. The front of our ring will easily accommodate a design or an engraving of anywhere from one letter to a short word. If you would like your ring engraved, please specify the initial letter(s) or the design in the Special Instructions area of this page. Perfect for men and women, our ring is available in sizes 4 - 14.
"Gravitas" means "gravity" or "seriousness," and it was considered one of the most admirable and desirable qualities of a respectable Roman individual, particularly one in power. The concept could also apply to matters of importance.
